Just One Product.....Finnabair Creative Team

You know how Finnabair has an amazing range of products she has designed from, papers, to metal embellishments, to gels and pastes, to stamps and glitter and glass beads, to stencils and crackle medium ? Well, if you could choose just one to play with, which one would it be ?
That was our task....create something focussing on just 1 product.
 I chose "stamps" !
How could anyone not love Finnabair's stamps, especially her new range of Cling Stamps and the smaller, textural range of Clear Stamps.
Stamps work just as well on cloth and primed canvas board as they do on paper.
I stamped with Archival Ink, Distress Ink and Embossing Ink.
Then I added colour with Water Color Pencils and embellished with Finnabair Glass Beads and Micro Beads and 'ballet costume leftovers.'

Cloth, art basics White Gesso, Cling Stamp Set "Don't Forget To Fly"

Visit Finnabair's blog HERE to see what beautiful creations the rest of the team have come up with when allowed to choose just 1 product.
All products used in this project are available from Mixed Media Place Store HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting. Hope you have a happy and creative weekend.

Finnabair Creative Team....Art Journal Cover

At last some time to post my first project for the Finnabair Creative Team. The project has been up on Finnabair's blog for a few days now with a step by step tutorial. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has left such beautiful and positive comments for me over there. Your reassurance and support is so appreciated.
Loving mixed media and collage the way I do, Finnabair's "art basics" range of gels, pastes and gesso make creating projects so enjoyable. Of course any sort of creativity is enjoyable but what I mean is that some products can be a little  frustrating, or not perform the way you thought they would, the results can sometimes be disappointing. Finn's mixed media range of products are brilliant !
The art basics Soft Matte Gel is perfect for collaging all types of paper, while the 3D Matte Gel is for more heavy duty purposes like attaching card, or any embellishments from flowers to metal.
The other product I really loved using on this project was the White Crackle Texture Paste. It works really well, lots of 'cracks' and dries very quickly. You can see below how beautifully the colours run into all those amazing little grooves and cracks, just adding another later of interest to the project.

Metal embellishments and glass beads added using art basics 3D matte gel. Also some more surface texture using art basics Modeling paste through a stencil and then coloured with art ingredients Mica Powder in Teal.....such a beautiful soft shimmer.

Words are from one of Finnabair's  beautiful new cling stamp sets.
The complete step by step tutorial can be seen HERE on Finnabair's blog along with a list of products used which can all be purchased from Mixed Media Place Store HERE.

Thanks for dropping by and visiting me today. May whatever tool, product or piece of equipment you have to use this week, work like a dream and bring you nothing but joy.

My Book In The Box.......For Mixed Media Place

Yes, I'm still making pages in my 'Box Book'. Even tho, each page is slightly different in size, it is no different to working in an art journal. No pages as yet have been stuck in, so they can all be removed and worked on individually.  The pages are all worked on at different times, sometimes months apart, but, I try to keep a continuity throughout by using the same papers, stamps and colours, and with out deliberately trying to do so, it has developed a sort of Bohemian feel. Perhaps that has something to do with Finnabair's stamps and papers, especially her new range of stamps and stencils, which I have included in these two pages.

I have used the 'Basket' Stencil from Finnabair's new Elementals range as a background as well as the Sunrise Sunset Doily Stencil with art basics Modeling Paste and the beautiful patterned circular stamp from her new Trust The Magic set.

The little butterflies were stamped onto a scrap of paper that had a 'splodge' of Silks Acrylic Glaze on it, left over from some previous experiment. If you have never tried using Silks as a colouring medium, I would urge you to give them a go. The colours are rich and deep, they flow beautifully and can be thinned with water. I love the purity of their colours.
The stamp is from Finnabair's new Don't Forget To Fly set.

All products used in this project can be purchased HERE at Mixed Media Place Store.
There is a step by step post of these pages and all the products used on the Mixed Media Place Blog HERE.
As always, thank you for dropping by and visiting. I wish you all a colourful and creative week.

Finnabair Creative Team

I am pinching myself.......... to be invited by Ania Dabrowska ( Finnabair ) to join her Creative Team, came unexpectedly out of the blue, and I am still catching my breath.
I am of course so honoured, so happy and so excited but must also admit to being a little nervous and overwhelmed.
Expectation can be a burden.
But
"Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties". Erich Fromm
So
I will just continue to do my own thing, in my own way; embracing colour, pattern and texture, sometimes telling a story and sometimes becoming lost in one.
